I added metallic gold highlights, softened the white, and started shading. Haven't shaded her face or mane and tail yet.I need to redo her rib marks still too so they're less white but also less stark.

I think I'm calling it a day on these 2. Base colours are done on the palomino, and the overo has base colours started... My Oct / Nov will be all commissions, so I wanted to get one sale-able girl (the palomino) and one guy for me (the overo) done beforehand. I think I'll have them ready in time for my Oct cut off. 🙂 The overo will be a sooty bay with reverse dapples. My dappling technique is getting more subtle and I'm quite happy about it!

I went to a local Equestrian Games recently, and some of the horses were so beautifully turned out! It re-inspired my tack making, and my English tack making specifically. I came home and started work right away on a new dressage set!

 

On this one I challenged myself to incorporate the original mold colour... Probably wouldn't do that again with a grey, it was really hard with not being able to layer in her base colour as I went! She's not totally done yet, but close. :)
